A hands on raku glazing and firing workshop
This will be a short one day workshop and introduction to raku firing for beginners, including glazing and being involved in the raku firing of your own pots.
After glazing, the pots will be quickly heated to red hot in a gas kiln before being lifted out with tongs and placed into a container filled with sawdust, this with cause the glazes to crackle and the smoke will penetrate the body of the pots giving them a distinctive finish.
Open to adults only, participants should bring 1-2 small bisque fired pieces along to glaze and fire.
Due to the nature of the workshop, sensible footware (no sandals or flip-flops) and old clothes covering your arms and legs should be worn, long hair will need to be tied back.
