Raku Kiln Lid Part 1

Sadly the lid of the raku kiln I use is reaching the limit of being reparable, it’s really begining to crack, unwind and break up. As much as I enjoy reparing it with bits of kiln wire and cement, it really does need replacing urgently so I have decided to try to build my own. Open Studios 2014

I am really looking forward to Open Studios tomorrow, with a bit of luck the autumn will hold off for a bit and I can get the raku kiln out and fire a few pieces in the sun. The Farmhouse Fellows have been busy preparing the house, garden and their studios. Paintings and drawings have been hung, tapestries weaved and pots fired. Come and have a cup of tea and a chat with some great artists.
